Reflections for a Potential Entrepreneur

It is said that "the best way to predict the future is to invent it." Although it is more comfortable to work for someone else, with the security of a monthly paycheck, covered social security, and paid vacations, the possibilities for someone who launches their own project are greater.

When you become self-employed, the paycheck doesn't arrive automatically; you have to create it day by day. In fact, you receive nothing but bills. You must work and generate every penny you receive. You don't even have the opportunity to work if you don't generate the work beforehand. But the possibilities of your own project, compared to the certainties of working for someone else, are unlimited.

The shift from the certainty of a paycheck to the ambiguity of opportunities for potential profits is one of the most difficult mental processes for a professional. In fact, this mental shift is what holds back most entrepreneurs and causes them to fail in their projects and, in many cases, try to return to the job they had in the past.

The monthly paycheck is one of the most firmly established values in our society. "They've been fired," is commonly said, as if it were a serious illness. We know many people for whom the fear of losing their job and monthly paycheck is only surpassed by the fear of serious illness and death.

To become independent and work for yourself, you must set aside these ancestral ideas and fears. In fact, the only power to determine our future lies within ourselves, not in our parents or our employers.

Job Security

Job security is increasingly an illusion. What company today is not affected or threatened by the possibility of buying another or being bought, of merging, forming alliances, or restructuring? How many of our acquaintances have been forced to change jobs for one reason or another in the last five years? Let's not deceive ourselves: job security, a job for life, is increasingly an illusion rather than a reality, more history than present. Working for yourself, if you achieve your goals, always gives the opportunity to create a new, more fulfilling future. And there are few things as rewarding as knowing that you can be independent, creating something from scratch.

The decision to trust in yourself and independently start a business project is exactly that: a decision. Another aphorism: "Destiny should not be an opportunity but a choice, not something to wait for, but something to achieve."

If you make that decision, overcome the challenges of doubts and fears, and persevere, you discover the greatest of securities: the knowledge that you can function on your own and succeed.

Then, ambiguity and possibilities will become loyal traveling companions, replacing the monotonous certainties of before, ensuring that anything can happen on every day.

A country, a business community, a society, needs this entrepreneurial mindset. It is the initiative of entrepreneurs that can lift a country and fostering its economic, cultural, and social development.
